Photographer’s notes: Prior to the session I was warned that Stevie could be a tough subject, so this was an invitation to me to make the shoot fun. It was sunny outside so we stayed in the office. Hendrix seemed to hail from Stevie’s shirt and we certainly had a laugh that afternoon. I still have the guitar pick Stevie gave me at the end of the shoot. This image is exclusive to the Rock Archive Collection and features Stevie’s drummer and Austin resident Chris Layton standing at the back.
